I discovered another expression to add to my collection!
"That is out of control."
When I heard the RD in my class utter it, I felt a tingling sensation. When the same person said it a second time, I felt a deep thrill. Yes, here was a new one! Is there anything more exciting for a collector than stumbling across a new item for a change - so new, yet so obvious, that it leaps at you?

But... but... there are completely valid uses of the word 'random'!
As in random-number-generator.

Awesome. Dude.
Of course, I have been known, on occasion, to use words of this....um....nature.
However, I think, when used sparingly, especially in the context of an "older" person trying to shock the socks off a "younger" person, these words can be rather effective, if not downright fun.
What I dislike, is when adults pick up the lingo of teens (i.e. people who think they are really "cool") and start routinely using words like....well...."cool," and whatnot.
Also, I think something should be said about people who use italics too often. Some people just go way overboard....

It's like, totally scary and cool that you can make such a huge list of random words that you have amazingly never uttered.
I just wanted to see if I could use them all in one sentence. ;-)
Ditto to Mrs. Hoyt about the word "cool" being used by adults.

Since "cool" made a comeback from the sixties (a decade, by the way, which I remember) why not "groovy?"
I mean, "groovy" is such a cool word...
