Ha ha ha ha! I figured it out all by myself. How to take a horizontal full-size picture and edit it to exactly the desired size for a blog profile photo, and all without leaving any annoying black, gray, or white stretches where it was "re-sized".
It's these little joys that make you fall asleep with a smile on your face!

I know JUST how you feel.
Once when our internet provider was down, I got on Daddy's computer and figured out how to get to and connect up the modem (it involved pulling up about four boxes and choosing the right things in each).
When he found out what I'd done, his look of surprise was enough to keep me going for almost a week.
Wait, mother. You did what?
Don't ask me to explain it. I might not even be able to do it again since the setup is different. But it was all pretty logical stuff and he wasn't around to ask.
